ANIMALS A PARALLEL HISTORY EXHIBITION
As part of Animal History in Schools Worldwide Project we created the spectacular, Animals: A Parallel History Exhibition with 200 newly colorized archived photographs, never seen before in one place. Old black and white photographs were collected from the many museums around the world, and most of them (as many as 77) are from the digital collection of the Library of Congress, Washington DC. Each photograph is digitally colored pixel by pixel, which revives the era in which they were created.
Photographs are sorted by topics: animals in warfare, entertainment, famous animals, meat industry, etc. Each image below contains a short and amazing story from our shared history. Four years of research of video and photo materials has resulted in an excellent public domain archive, with an original historical / cultural animal treasure.
We invite all interested individuals, organizations and institutions, museums, galleries, and schools, to contact us regarding the organization of an exhibition in your town. The exhibition consists of panels / posters with photographs and scenes from the documentary, Animals: A Parallel History, displayed on screens. All material is sent via the internet, so there are no shipping costs.
